A quick overview of School Councils:
- School Councils are an advisory body providing feedback and suggestions to school administration
- Members have opportunities to inform decisions that impact student learning
- School Councils advocate for the school through the Board of Trustees
At Queen Elizabeth School, there is also a fundraising arm of the School Council which through its efforts, are able to support the school by enhancing the learning environment through the purchases of additional resources such as books for classroom libraries, additional literacy resources and fieldtrips.
Meetings typically last between 60-90 minutes, and include the following elements:
- Chair Report
- Principal's Report
- Trustee Report
- Discussion of any items in the report
- Review of any correspondence
- A brief fundraising meeting follows the regular School Council Meeting
